Austria has denied U.S. requests to use its airspace for military flights tied to the war in Iran, reaffirming its long-standing neutrality, The Hill reported.
Vice Chancellor Andi Babler said the country wants “nothing to do with Trump’s policy of chaos and his war,” warning it could trigger the next energy crisis.
A Defense Ministry spokesperson confirmed all U.S. military-related overflight requests have been rejected, a policy Austria applies to other conflicts as well.
Austria, not a NATO member, joins Italy and Spain in refusing U.S. military access, as the Trump administration continues its campaign in Iran alongside Israel.
