Fresno County Authorities Still Searching for Missing Mother and Infant

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing mother and her 8-month-old daughter, last seen more than a week ago.

Whisper Owen, 36, and her daughter, Sandra McCarty, were last seen on July 15.

The pair left the city of Fresno around 5:00 p.m. in a silver 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer with California license plate 9LKH008. The SUV has visible damage to its driver’s side headlight, authorities said.

A traffic camera captured the vehicle later that evening, shortly after 8:00 p.m., in Atwater near Shaffer and Bellevue Roads.

The two were believed to be heading to their home in Elk Grove but never arrived.

Owen is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, 145 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. Sandra is 1 foot 10 inches tall, 17 pounds, with green eyes and brown hair.

No information has been discovered to explain their disappearance. Anyone who sees them or their vehicle is urged to call 911.
