The Bulldogs fell, 94-69, against Nevada in a Mountain West contest at Reno on Monday. It was the Bulldogs’ seventh straight MW defeat and dropped their overall record to 5-20. They are 1-13 in conference play.

In the 1976-77 season as a member of the Pacific Coast Athletic Association, the Bulldogs finished 7-20 and the university fired veteran coach Ed Gregory. That led to the hiring of Boyd Grant, an instant turnaround the following year at 21-6, and a run of success that included three NCAA Tournament appearances.

Tremble Leads the Bulldogs

For the Bulldogs, Jasir Tremble made five 3-pointers and matched his season high with 19 points. Brian Amuneke hit four 3-pointers and scored 14.

Six Games Left in Regular Season

Fresno State, under first-year coach Vance Walberg, has six games left in the regular season.

The Bulldogs are at UNLV on Saturday and San Diego State on Tuesday Feb. 18. They then have three games at the Save Mart Center: versus Air Force, the only MW team the Bulldogs have beaten, on Feb. 22, followed by visits from Boise State and Wyoming. They close with a road assignment at San Jose State.
