We have an extraordinary story to share about a pint-sized pooch with a larger-than-life personality! Meet Mr. Miyagi, the 2-year-old, 15-pound Shih Tzu mix who thinks he’s a 100-pound mastiff.

Mr. Miyagi’s journey began in dire straits. This brave little guy was found in a shocking state, arguably the worst Mell’s Mutts has ever encountered in their rescue efforts. Picture this: over 100 foxtails embedded in his tiny body, like tiny arrows piercing his skin. He wandered through a grape vineyard for two long weeks, battling against the odds.

After numerous surgeries and endless medical care, our resilient Mr. Miyagi is a changed pup.

A year later, he’s not just surviving; he’s thriving! This little warrior has a heart full of love and a zest for life that’s simply infectious.

Mr. Miyagi craves the company of his beloved humans and gets along famously with dogs his own size.

His favorite pastimes? Splashing around in kiddie pools and then dashing about while still soaking wet — a true water-loving rascal!

One thing to note: Mr. Miyagi doesn’t do well when left alone. He needs a home where someone is around most of the time to keep him company and soothe his anxious little heart.

Mr. Miyagi is a remarkable dog who has overcome incredible odds. Now, he’s ready for his next adventure with a loving forever family. Could that be you?
