A fire early Tuesday destroyed three vehicles outside a Fresno auto body shop and caused minor damage to the business, authorities said.

Firefighters responded shortly after 12:30 a.m. to the 3200 block of East Belmont Avenue after receiving multiple reports of a building fire, the Fresno Fire Department said.

Crews arrived to find several vehicles burning outside the shop, with flames threatening and extending into the building. Firefighters entered the structure and contained the blaze, preventing further damage to the business.

The shop sustained only minor damage and will be able to remain open, officials said.

A total of 34 firefighters responded to the incident.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
