Fresno homicide detectives quickly located, interviewed, and arrested a man who allegedly stabbed a homeless woman to death Sunday evening.

According to a police department news release, detectives located video footage of a man stabbing Patricia Roper, 58, in her upper body on East Griffith Way near Blackstone Avenue.
The suspect in the video was Steven Edward Raymundo, 36, who is also homeless.
Raymundo fled the scene after the stabbing, which occurred at about 7 p.m. Sunday but was tracked down by patrol officers, authorities said.
During a police interview, Raymundo denied involvement in the stabbing. He was booked into Fresno County Jail for murder shortly before 9 a.m. on Monday.
Police have yet to develop a motive for Roper’s killing.
