Fresno State’s 5th annual Day of Giving, will be on Thursday, making it a good day to don your Bulldog Red.
Although the 24-hour online fundraiser kicks off at midnight, students will get a chance to sleep in until the on-campus scavenger hunt begins at 7:30 a.m. (You can’t spell fundraiser without fun, right?)
Dutch Bros will host an all-day give-back event from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Speakers Platform. Meanwhile, students will be treated to lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
If you’re not a student, you can still participate in activities that will be held in person and virtually throughout the day, showcasing programs at Fresno State. See the list of activities and register at alumni.fresnostate.edu/events.html.
How to Give
There are 20 giving areas to support, or donors can select “other” and type in the program of their choice. Donors can support colleges, schools, and programs such as the Fresno State Annual Fund, student research, scholarships, internship programs, and innovative learning environments.
Last year 1,579 donors from 42 states and five countries contributed to the Day of Giving.
Day of Giving challenges are designed to create engagement and awareness about the campaign, including donor and social media challenges. All related social media posts should include #FresnoStateDOG.
Donors can get a match for their dollars, up to a specified amount in some challenges, while others require a set number of donations to “unlock” contributions.
Want to know how the giving is going? Fresno State will keep a running total on a live leaderboard, with real-time updates.
But the university says Day of Giving is all about participation, not a particular dollar goal.
