Dinner tonight for 500 families living near Addams Elementary is being hosted by the Fresno Teachers Association, in conjunction with Live Again Fresno and Quesadilla Gorilla.

The free grab-and-go meals prepared by Quesadilla Gorilla will be handed out starting at 5 p.m. at the school, 2117 W. McKinley Ave., in central Fresno.

Live Again Fresno is assisting by delivering meals to families in the Parkway Drive area.

The FTA has committed $10,000 to a campaign with two goals: feeding families in need in Fresno, and bringing business to local eateries that have suffered business losses because of the coronavirus pandemic and state orders to stay at home.

Live Concert Kicked Off Fundraiser

A live concert last weekend netted about $3,300 in contributions for the campaign, FTA President Manuel Bonilla said.

Thursday’s food distribution is the first of several planned in the next several weeks. FTA plans to provide at least 500 meals weekly in each of the district’s regions.

Community members can help by donating using the following platforms: GoFundMe: gofundme.com/f/FresnoConcert; Cash App: $fresnoteachers; and Venmo: @fresnoteachers.
