Saudi Arabia Sentences man to 2,000 lashings and 10 years in jail for Atheism

United States ally in the middle East, Saudi Arabia, has sentenced a man to 2,000 lashings and 10 years in jail for his belief in atheism. The man, a Palestinian who has lived in Saudi Arabia for many years, was arrested after posting messages to twitter denying the existence of God. The man stated that the posts reflected his beliefs, and that he had the right to post them.
