Fresno police issued 102 citations and arrested four drivers on suspicion of driving under the influence during a bicycle and pedestrian safety operation Saturday, the department said.
Police cited 78 drivers for violations including failing to stop at stop signs, unsafe speed, using a handheld wireless device while driving and failing to stop at red lights.
Four drivers were arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Another 24 pedestrians and cyclists were cited for various code violations, police said.
The citywide enforcement operation ran from noon to 10 p.m. Police said officers contacted 93 drivers during the operation.
The Fresno Police Department plans another bicycle and pedestrian safety operation in March.
Funding for the operation was provided by a California Office of Traffic Safety grant through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
