The Central Fish Company in Fresno said a “citizen’s arrest” was made after surveillance video showed a man striking its Chinatown building with a large stick, damaging the business’ sign.
The company said in a social media post that the man had been “terrorizing Chinatown and Downtown for quite some time” before he was caught.

Videos shared by Central Fish showed the man repeatedly striking the building with the stick as portions of the Central Fish Co. sign began to break loose and fall.
Another video shows Fresno police searching the suspect while he was detained on the ground.
In a separate video, a man who Central Fish claims to be the same suspect is seen breaking the glass on the business’ door. He was wearing different clothing and using a different object to damage the building.
The company said its damaged door has already been repaired, but it is now looking for a company to replace or redesign the sign.
