A man wanted in connection with a domestic violence attack in which a woman was allegedly beaten while holding their 1-year-old child was arrested Friday, according to the Fresno Police Department.

Police said officers were dispatched to the Northwest Police Substation about 3:19 p.m. July 20 after receiving a report of a prior domestic violence disturbance.

The victim told officers she had been in a dating relationship with Miguel Felix and that the two have two children together.

Police said the victim and Felix got into an argument about 1 p.m. while she was holding their 1-year-old child. Felix allegedly struck the woman on the left side of her face, causing a cut inside her mouth.

Felix then allegedly pulled her hair and struck her in the head several times, causing swelling to the back of her head and the left side of her face, police said.

The victim covered her head and yelled for a relative to call police. Felix left before officers arrived and could not be located, according to police.

About 7:15 p.m. Friday, officers with the Northwest District Safety Team received an alert from an automated license plate reader identifying Felix’s vehicle in the Northwest Policing District.

Officers determined Felix was wanted on suspicion of felony domestic violence and child endangerment and located him and his vehicle near Blackstone and Sierra avenues.

Felix was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Fresno County Jail, police said.
