A 24-year-old woman has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of Marione Tsegay, 26, at a party Saturday evening at a central Fresno home, Fresno police reported Monday morning.

Fresno police homicide detectives determined that Tsegay was among many people attending a party at a home in the area of Shields and Fruit avenues and that she was shot after an argument with the suspect, Nemadia Knuckles, 24.

Police had responded to the area after getting reports of shots fired at 9:23 p.m. and found Tsegay had been shot. She was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment but was pronounced dead.

Knuckles was booked into the Fresno County Jail on a murder charge.
