A 25-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on multiple domestic violence-related charges after police said he assaulted his girlfriend in three separate attacks, prevented her from leaving, and threatened her if she contacted authorities.
Fresno police said officers were dispatched at about 9:44 a.m. to a confidential location after a reporting party told dispatchers she had received a message from the victim asking her to call police.
When officers arrived, they contacted the victim, who was bleeding from inside her right ear, according to police.
The victim told officers that her boyfriend, identified by police as Guillermo Pichardo-Miranda, assaulted her in three separate incidents. She also alleged that Pichardo-Miranda kept her vehicle keys and cellphone, preventing her from leaving, and threatened to assault her if she called police.
Police said Pichardo-Miranda also used the victim’s phone to send a series of messages to the reporting party while pretending to be the victim in an effort to stop officers from responding.
Pichardo-Miranda was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on several charges related to domestic violence, police said.
