Firefighters from multiple agencies responded Wednesday evening to a vegetation fire near West Caldwell Avenue in Visalia that destroyed a barn and threatened nearby structures, authorities said.
The fire started in dry grass and spread quickly, prompting a coordinated response from neighboring fire agencies, including the Farmersville Fire Department.
Crews worked to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby homes and other structures. While one barn was destroyed, firefighters were successful in protecting surrounding properties, officials said.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire was not immediately released.
Fire officials reminded residents that dry vegetation can ignite and spread rapidly, particularly during hot and windy conditions.
They urged property owners to maintain defensible space, clear dry grass and weeds, and use caution with activities that could spark a fire.
