A low-flying owl got stuck in the front grille of a vehicle traveling on Highway 99 before being safely freed by the California Highway Patrol, authorities said Wednesday.

CHP Fresno said officers used “a little patience, some sweet talking, and a lot of care” to rescue the bird.

Authorities said the owl flew away after the incident.
