A vehicle fire that spread to a home’s garage early Monday was contained by Fresno firefighters.

Fire crews responded just before 1 a.m. near Chestnut and Richmond avenues, where residents and neighbors reported a vehicle fully engulfed in flames in the driveway, the Fresno Fire Department said in a statement.

The fire spread to the garage but was stopped before it could reach other parts of the home, firefighters said.

No injuries were reported, and the occupants were not displaced, officials said.

The Fresno Fire Department wants to remind the community to maintain working smoke alarms and practice home escape plans.
