Israel Intercepts Missile from Yemen as Houthi Attacks Continue

The Israeli military successfully intercepted a missile fired from Yemen early Sunday, triggering air raid sirens across several regions of the country, DPA International reported.
Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels claimed responsibility, stating they launched two ballistic missiles at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion airport. This follows their May 4 strike that reached the airport’s perimeter and injured several people.
The Houthis have consistently targeted Israel since October 2023, when the Gaza conflict began following Hamas-led attacks on Israel. The rebel group, which controls significant portions of Yemen, has also attacked international shipping in the Red Sea, describing these actions as solidarity with Hamas.
