AI-Powered Medical Model Promises Faster, Informed Health Care

Artificial intelligence (AI) could help medical professionals provide patients with expedited and better-informed health care, according to a paper in the journal Nature.
Scientists have revealed the details of Generalist Medical Al, or GMAI, a model that can draw from a broad range of inputs, from medical records to scientific literature, to build a more complete picture of the individual’s state of health.
With more than 500 AI medical models approved by the FDA, the development of generalist medical artificial intelligence could usher in an era of artificial medical professionals capable of performing hundreds of tasks.
However, the safety and privacy of patients’ data remains a concern.
