Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of Tyler Hamon, 33, who was killed early Friday at the Windscape Apartments in northwest Fresno, according to the Fresno Police Department.

Around 12:10 a.m., officers arrived at the complex at 353 W. Nees Ave. after receiving reports of a shooting. Hamon was found in a bedroom, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound to his back.
Responding officers noted bullet holes in the front door and cartridge casings on the upstairs landing.

Despite efforts by EMS and officers, Hamon was pronounced dead at Kaiser Hospital shortly thereafter.

Hamon’s death marks Fresno’s 27th homicide of the year; there were 26 at this time in 2023, according to police records.
