About 2,200 customers were without power Wednesday after an electrical box caught fire in Madera, according to the Madera Police Department.
Officers initially responded to the area of the 500 block of West Olive Avenue after the electrical box caught fire, police said.
Pacific Gas & Electric crews were at the scene working to restore power to affected customers, police said.
Police said approximately 2,200 customers in the area were affected by the outage.
An estimated time for power restoration was not immediately available.
The Madera Police Department said it would provide additional updates as more information becomes available.
