San Luis Obispo Grade Fire Burns Along Highway 101, Evacuation Ordered

A wildfire burning along Highway 101 on the Cuesta Grade in San Luis Obispo County grew to 33 acres Wednesday afternoon and remained uncontained, according to CalFire. (San Luis Obispo SO)

Firefighters were battling a 33-acre wildfire Wednesday afternoon along northbound Highway 101 on the Cuesta Grade in San Luis Obispo, according to CalFire.
The Grade Fire was active as of 3:37 p.m. and was 0% contained. The fire was burning in the middle of the Cuesta Grade.
An evacuation order was issued for Zone LPF-004.
CalFire said numerous firefighting air tankers from across the state were conducting suppression missions as conditions allowed.
About 75 personnel were assigned to the fire, including nine engines, one water tender, one helicopter, two bulldozers, and one hand crew.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
