A student was arrested after deputies investigated a reported threat involving students and the Yosemite High School campus Tuesday evening, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies investigated the report and determined there was no credible threat to the campus, according to the sheriff’s office.

During the investigation, deputies identified the student responsible for making the threat. The student was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats and for a probation violation.

The sheriff’s office said it will have an increased presence and additional patrols on and around the Yosemite High School campus as a precaution.

School will continue as scheduled.

The sheriff’s office said it takes all reports of threats involving schools seriously and thanked students, families, and school staff who promptly reported the concerning information.
