The Fresno Koi Show will return to Woodward Park this month, bringing prized fish, hobbyists, vendors, and koi dealers to one of the nation’s longest-running koi shows.

The 46th annual Fresno Koi Show will be held Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 26-27, in the group activity area next to the Shinzen Friendship Garden. Admission is free.

The show will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

Hosted by the Central California Koi Society, organizers expect this year’s event to be the largest Fresno Koi Show in its history.

Local and out-of-area hobbyists will bring their prized koi to compete for Grand Champion and about 50 other awards. Koi judges will also travel to Fresno for the regional event.

Hundreds of Koi Available for Purchase

Hundreds of koi will be available for purchase from California and out-of-state dealers, including fish imported directly from koi farms in Japan.

Organizers said a record number of vendors will participate, offering koi food, pond products, services, and gift items. Vendors and sponsors include Hikari USA, Champion Nishikigoi, Demi Koi, A-1 Koi Ponds, Hanako Koi Ponds, Majestic Koi, Mystic Koi & Water Gardens, Nijikawa USA, and Tri-Star Koi.

The event will also include a raffle, silent auction, and local food trucks.

Visitors will be able to enter the Shinzen Friendship Garden through the koi show to see its waterfalls, koi pond, moon bridge, tea house, and Clark Bonsai Collection.

The Central California Koi Society plans to donate a portion of the show’s proceeds to the Shinzen Friendship Garden to support its koi pond and fish health.

The show serves as the nonprofit koi society’s primary annual fundraiser. Proceeds help support the event and the group’s work promoting koi and pond keeping.
