The Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office is asking for the public’s help finding relatives of a man who was found unresponsive behind a store in Mendota and later pronounced dead.

Marcos Perez, 64, was found Aug. 13, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Coroner’s Office staff have searched numerous personal records but have been unable to contact Perez’s family.

Officials said locating immediate family members is necessary before the Coroner’s Unit can release Perez’s body and allow for a burial.

The Sheriff’s Office said a photo released of Perez was taken in 2023.
