A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI after running from officers during a traffic stop Wednesday night, Fresno police told GV Wire.

An officer stopped Pedro Segura about 10:51 p.m. for an equipment violation, police said. Segura walked away from the vehicle before running and jumping over a chain-link fence in an attempt to escape.

Officers quickly detained him and discovered his driver’s license was suspended, police said. Officers also reported Segura had red, glossy eyes and smelled of alcohol.

A motor officer responded and conducted a DUI investigation. Police said Segura was found to have a blood alcohol concentration of 0.043%, which violated the terms of his court probation.

Segura submitted to a blood draw, according to police.

His vehicle was impounded, and he was booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of DUI.
