A 23-year-old man accused of shooting a 93-year-old woman inside her Fresno home in June has been arrested, police said.

Fresno police identified Adrian Meza as the suspect in the June 25 shooting near South Holloway and East Grove avenues.

Officers responded to the home about 2:29 a.m. and found the 93-year-old woman suffering from three gunshot wounds to her lower body, police said. She had been in her bedroom when the gunfire struck the residence.

Police said the home was hit by gunfire 12 times.

The woman was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and released from the hospital about a week later.

Detectives later identified Meza as the suspect in the shooting, police said.

On Friday, Sept. 4, a Fresno FAX officer was flagged down during an unrelated road-rage incident and contacted Meza during the investigation. He was taken into custody without incident.

Meza was booked into the Fresno County Jail, where his bail was set at more than $2 million.
