The Fresno Police Department is looking for a man accused of stealing a hatchet and a bag of merchandise from a local business.

On Aug. 27, a man entered a business near Kings Canyon Road and Clovis Avenue.

Police said an employee saw the suspect tampering with a locking cord near the rear exit gate and notified a coworker, who went to confront him.

The employee saw the man was holding a hatchet belonging to the business and told police the suspect commanded him not to approach.

As the employee blocked the suspect’s exit, the suspect pushed him with his arm and escaped the store with a bag of merchandise and the hatchet, police said.
