Two suspects were arrested Thursday in connection with multiple vehicle burglaries reported over the weekend in the Riverstone area, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office said.

Detectives with the sheriff’s Special Enforcement Team, known as MADSET, investigated the burglaries and learned that credit cards stolen from the vehicles had been used to make purchases in Fresno, according to the sheriff’s office.

Detectives identified two suspects and located and arrested them Thursday morning in Fresno with assistance from the Fresno Police Department’s Adult Compliance Team.

Authorities said a loaded stolen firearm was recovered during the arrests. Property stolen in the Riverstone burglaries has not been recovered.

Both suspects are on post-release community supervision, according to the sheriff’s office. One of the suspects had also been arrested by MADSET earlier this year in connection with separate vehicle burglaries.

The sheriff’s office did not release the suspects’ names or provide details about the number of burglaries.

Both suspects were being booked into the Madera County Jail.
