A 27-year-old Exeter man was arrested Thursday after a 15-year-old girl reported being sexually assaulted, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said.

The girl reported Wednesday that she had been sexually assaulted in the area of Road 148 and Avenue 272 in Exeter, according to the sheriff’s office.

Detectives with the Special Victims Unit learned during the investigation that the girl had met Pedro Villalobos online. Investigators said Villalobos later engaged in sexual acts with her.

Villalobos was arrested and booked into the Adult Pre-Trial Detention Facility on charges of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under the age of 15, according to the sheriff’s office.
