The Friday Farmers Market in Old Town Clovis has been canceled on Aug. 7 because of an upcoming heat wave, organizers announced.
Organizers said the decision was made with the safety of attendees, vendors, entertainers, and staff as the top priority.
“We appreciate your understanding as we make this difficult decision,” organizers said in the announcement.
The cancellation affects only the Friday, Aug. 7, market.
The Friday evening market, which opened May 1, runs through Sept. 25 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. each Friday on Pollasky Avenue between Third and Seventh streets.
The market features local certified producers offering fresh vegetables, fruit, herbs and flowers. Vendors also sell homemade pastries, breads, granola and pies sourced from growers throughout the Central Valley.
The Saturday market will continue as scheduled from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Pollasky Avenue between Fifth Street and Bullard Avenue.
