A vacant home in Fresno was heavily damaged by fire Monday afternoon, according to the Fresno Fire Department.
Firefighters responded around 1:40 p.m. to the 2100 block of South Poppy Avenue after receiving multiple reports of a house fire.
Engine 3 arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear half of a boarded-up vacant home. Firefighters had to cut through boarded windows and metal security doors before crews could enter the home and attack the fire.
Crews were able to bring the fire under control, but the home sustained extensive damage.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
