Human remains found during a multi-day search in Tuolumne County have been identified as Lydia Suzanne Van Olden, who was reported missing after her family contacted the Modesto Police Department on July 18, authorities said.
Police said Van Olden’s family contacted the Modesto Police Department after they had not heard from her for several days.
Earlier that day, the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office located her vehicle near O’Byrnes Ferry Bridge and launched a large-scale search.
The search, which included the use of drones, continued over multiple days. On Thursday, search personnel located human remains underwater that were later identified as Van Olden.
