Two drivers were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after separate traffic collisions Saturday night, according to the Madera Police Department.
Police said the department’s weekend nightshift team responded to two DUI-related crashes. Authorities said both collisions occurred at high speeds, but no one was injured.
According to police, Francisco Ruiz, 49, was found to have a blood alcohol level nearly four times the legal limit, while Gerardo Gonzalez, 51, was found to have a blood alcohol level about three times the legal limit.
Both men were arrested and booked into the Madera County Jail, police said.
The department reminded the public to plan ahead by designating a sober driver, using a rideshare service, or arranging other safe transportation before drinking.
