The Fresno Police Department arrested 10 drivers on suspicion of driving under the influence during a DUI enforcement operation Saturday.

The department said drivers charged with a first-time DUI can face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, along with a suspended driver’s license.

Fresno police said another DUI enforcement operation is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, with additional DUI patrols and checkpoints planned throughout the year as part of efforts to keep roadways safe.

Funding for the program was provided through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
