Fresno police conducted focused enforcement over the weekend at several locations known for street racing activity, resulting in dozens of citations and multiple arrests.

According to the Fresno Police Department, officers assigned to the Motors Unit monitored several street-racing hotspots throughout the city. Police said most crowds dispersed shortly after officers arrived, and many gatherings did not involve reckless activity. However, officers observed some vehicles performing burnouts and driving recklessly in a parking lot.

During the operation, officers stopped 69 vehicles and issued 66 citations. Police also reported four vehicles were towed, one state referral was issued, and nine misdemeanor arrests were made, and four arrests on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The department thanked community members for their cooperation during the enforcement effort and encouraged anyone who witnesses street racing to move to a safe location and report it to authorities by calling 911 or (559) 621-RACE.
