Fresno police say a suspect was arrested after a drone helped officers track him as he allegedly violated a restraining order and attempted to flee on an e-scooter and then on foot.

According to a Fresno Police Department social media post, on Tuesday, officers responded to a report involving a restraining order violation.

Police said the department’s Drone as First Responder unit observed the suspect leaving the area on an e-scooter and relayed his location and direction of travel to responding officers.

When officers moved in to detain him, the suspect allegedly attempted to flee first on the scooter and then on foot, according to police.

Officers, with assistance from the drone unit, later took the suspect into custody.
