On Saturday, officers with the Madera Police Department responded to a single-vehicle collision in which a driver struck a center median and a traffic control sign, according to police.

The driver, a Madera resident in his twenties, showed signs of alcohol intoxication and was later determined to be driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration nearly twice the legal limit, police said.

He was booked into the Madera County Jail on a DUI charge. No injuries were reported in the crash.
