A 57-year-old Visalia man was arrested Tuesday after police said he fired a handgun inside a home, prompting a response from patrol and HOPE officers.
Officers responded at about 1:50 p.m. to the 3100 block of West Tulare Avenue following a report of shots fired, the Visalia Police Department said.
Investigators determined that a man inside the residence had discharged a handgun inside a bedroom, police said.
The man, identified as James Gowin, exited the residence after officers arrived and was safely detained, according to police.
Gowin is expected to be booked on suspicion of negligent discharge of a firearm.
