Aloka may look like a 50-pound shepherd-husky mix, but don’t tell him that — he identifies as a teddy bear.
About a year old, Aloka has quickly built a reputation for being less of a typical high-energy dog and more of a full-time cuddle enthusiast. His favorite activity isn’t chasing balls or patrolling yards — it’s climbing into laps, resting his head on a shoulder and gazing lovingly into a human’s eyes.
“He truly is the sweetest,” those who know him say, describing a dog whose main goal appears to be affection.
Aloka’s gentle personality extends beyond people. He eagerly befriends every dog he meets, whether big or small, approaching each interaction with easygoing charm.
He’s also putting in the work. Aloka is finishing a two-week board-and-train program, where he has been learning basic commands such as sit, stay and come. Trainers say he’s doing especially well on a leash, adding good manners to his already winning personality.
His story began in a far less cozy setting. Aloka was found in the middle of a busy intersection, a dangerous situation that could have ended very differently. Instead, a rescuer jumped out of a car and hoped for the best.
The plan worked.
“He got right in,” they recalled.
Now safe and thriving, Aloka seems determined to make up for lost time — offering affection freely and enthusiastically to anyone willing to accept it.
With his loving nature and teddy bear identity fully intact, Aloka isn’t just looking for a home. He’s ready to be someone’s constant companion — and, if he has his way, their favorite lapdog.
