Officers issued citations and impounded multiple vehicles during an enforcement operation targeting the illegal use of off-road motorcycles in Visalia, police said late Thursday.

The Visalia Police Department said its patrol and traffic units conducted the proactive effort in response to ongoing community safety concerns. The operation focused on areas including the Saint John’s walking path, Riverway Sports Park and surrounding city streets.

During the operation, officers contacted multiple individuals who were unlawfully operating off-road motorcycles on public roadways and pedestrian paths. Each individual was cited, and their vehicles were impounded in accordance with local laws and regulations, police said.

The department said it will continue similar enforcement efforts as part of an ongoing initiative to address safety concerns.
