Detectives are searching for multiple suspects after a ride-share driver was robbed and beaten in Fresno, authorities said.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. on Feb. 22 near North Willow and East Harvey avenues, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said an Uber driver was parked in the area when five men approached his vehicle, forced the door open, and brandished a handgun while demanding his wallet.

One of the suspects then pistol-whipped the driver before the group fled.

The victim was able to drive away, seek medical treatment and report the incident to authorities.
