A Tulare County jury has convicted a Porterville man of molesting a 4-year-old girl during a home burglary in 2020, prosecutors said Thursday.

Serafin Narciso, 44, was found guilty of committing forcible sexual acts against a child under the age of 14 during a burglary, according to the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office.

The assault occurred around 8:30 p.m. on April 25, 2020, when Narciso entered a Porterville home while the residents were in the backyard.

Authorities said Narciso did not know the family and targeted the young girl while inside the home.

Narciso faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 16 in Tulare County Superior Court.

Prosecutors said he will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
