A 14-year-old male gang member was arrested on Friday for his involvement in multiple vandalism and arson incidents, the Sanger Police Department said in a statement on Monday.

The arrest followed an investigation linking the suspect to two separate incidents.

On Feb. 16, officers responded to the 1600 block of J Street, where several vehicles were vandalized at an apartment complex.

Then, on Friday, police were called to Jefferson Elementary School after discovering that the school had been vandalized and small fires had been set.

Officers and detectives gathered evidence and identified the suspect, who was located and taken into custody. The juvenile was booked at the Juvenile Justice Center.

Anyone with information regarding the incidents is urged to contact detective Sergio Arguello at the Sanger Police Department at (559) 875-8521.
