Detectives have arrested Gabriel Valdivia, 27, of Sanger, who has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of robbery, auto theft, evading police, and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office announced on Friday.

On Wednesday, deputies responded to a call near Dinuba and Clovis avenues near Fowler, where they found a victim who had been pistol-whipped and their vehicle stolen.
Two days later, on Friday, officers with the Reedley Police Department located the stolen SUV and attempted a traffic stop.

The driver, later identified as Valdivia led officers on a pursuit through Selma.
After losing control of the vehicle in a neighborhood, Valdivia abandoned the SUV. Deputies and officers apprehended him, and a loaded handgun was found on him.
