Officers responded to a vehicle in structure crash on South Sowell Street just after 5:40 p.m. Saturday, where a 14-year-old girl had taken her grandparents’ car without permission, the Visalia Police Department said in a statement.

The teen, who was speeding, lost control, drove through a yard, and crashed into a home.

The collision caused moderate damage to both the car and the residence, but no injuries were reported.

The teenager was transported to Kaweah Health as a precaution.

Authorities confirmed the girl was already on probation for a previous auto theft and arrested her for several offenses, including driving without a license, reckless driving, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, and making an improper turn.
