Biden Embraces 'Dark Brandon' Meme

President Joe Biden made a “Dark Brandon” joke during the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner on April 29, neutralizing the popular right-wing meme.

The meme originated as a riff on “Dark MAGA,” a short-lived meme about Trump, and played on the “Let’s Go Brandon” rallying cry. After Biden’s climate and spending bill passed, Democrats began posting Dark Brandon memes to assert his competence.

While Biden’s adoption of the meme may be cringe-worthy, it effectively stops the right-wing joke from being edgy and allows him to own it.
