Governor Offers $50,000 Reward in Unsolved Fresno Killings

Gov. Gavin Newsom hopes a $50,000 reward might solve a three-year-old cold case in Fresno County.
Two teenagers were shot and killed Jan. 29, 2016, at a house party eight miles south of Fresno, in the 7200 block of South Orange Avenue near Easton.
According to the sheriff’s office, 35 shots were fired after a disturbance between two rival groups, killing 19-year old Kayla DeBorde and 17-year old William Harris. DeBorde left behind an 18-month old child.

DeBorde left behind an 18-month old child.Detectives said the party was advertised on social media, drawing a crowd of up to 300, which likely led to the trouble. They told KMPH earlier this year there have been few leads and witnesses.
No arrests have been made.
Governor’s Tip Program
The governor on Wednesday added this case as part of his program for crime tips leading to arrest and conviction. The $50,000 is on top of $3,500 already offered by Central Valley Crime Stoppers and a private donor.
