Fresno’s Island Water Park, which annually provides families with relief from triple-digit temperatures, is not going to open this summer because of the pandemic.
The park’s decision was posted on its website: “We have made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 operating season.”
Island Water Park Message
“We are deeply disappointed, and this is not a decision that comes lightly. In all good conscience, we cannot provide the exciting experience that you have come to expect from Island Waterpark and still maintain the necessary social distancing. This is our way of doing our part to keep you safe and get our great state of California healthy and back on its feet,” the park said
Season passes to the park have been extended through the 2021 season. The park is also offering refunds to those who want them.
The park says its maintenance and operations teams will make enhancements to the park ahead of its 2021 opening.
