Despite including “NY” in its official name, the four Uncle Harry’s NY Bagelry & Coffeehouse locations in Fresno are locally owned and operated by the wife-and-husband team of Rena Gazarian Rutledge and Wayne Rutledge.
They opened their first shop in 1995.
In this video, the Rutledges reveal the inspiration for Uncle Harry’s, how the shops got their name, and the ingredients for success in the high-risk world of cafes and restaurants.
